Doug Trout is the Executive Director of the Miller Center Foundation. Prior to joining the Miller Center in 2012 he served as Director of the Graduate Fellowship Program for the Jefferson Scholars Foundation (JSF) from 2005 – 2012 after a two-year stint as Associate Director of Development.  Prior to joining the Foundation he worked for the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics where he served as Director of Development for three years.  Doug also served as Associate Director of Development for the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.  He served for six years in a number of capacities for Presidential Classroom including Program Manager and Associate Director of Development.
Doug graduated from James Madison University in 1993 with a B.S. in Political Science.  While at James Madison he was the Founder and President of the Political Science Society and a member of the President’s Cabinet.  He took his Masters in Public Administration degree from George Mason University in 1997 with a focus in public and non-profit management.  While completing his masters degree he served as Vice President for the Graduate Student Government Association.  
Doug currently serves on the development committee for Charlottesville Catholic School and is a past board member of Presidential Classroom.  He is a current member and former President of the Virginia Association of Fund Raising Executives.  He is a former board member of the Redfields Community Association and is a youth basketball and soccer coach.  He, his wife Kelly, and their three sons reside in Charlottesville, Virginia.
