The Hoover-Minthorn House Museum was the boyhood home of Herbert Hoover, 31st President of the United States, from 1885-1888. It is preserved as a memorial of Herbert Hoover's boyhood and also in honor of the Dr. Henry John Minthorn family and physicians in rural 19th century America. It also illustrates a typical pioneer Quaker home in the Newberg community. Restored to its original condition, it contains original furnishings, as well as memorabilia belonging to President Hoover, the Minthorn family, and members of the local community.
