The mission of the Horrmann Library is to identify, acquire, maintain, preserve, and provide access to information and research in support of academic programs offered by the college. Library staff seek to enhance the information literacy skills of patrons through instruction, work cooperatively with faculty to build appropriate collections in a variety of formats, adopt advances in information technology to library operations, establish and maintain cooperative agreements for resource sharing with other libraries, and encourage research and continued learning.

Calvin thanks Markham for the copy of "A Song of Victory" with his signature. It will place in the White House Library.

Calvin thanks Markham for the 2 poems he sent with his autograph. He shall prize them. If Markham is ever in Washington, Calvin will be happy to see him.


Curley, James M. Letter, July 25, 1930, Boston Mass. [to] Mr. Edwin Markham, Staten Island, N.Y. / James M. Curley.

This letter is written by the Director of Public Celebrations of Boston. James is now the Mayor of Boston and they are extending an invitation to Markham to write a ode or poem for the "Tercentenary year of 1930" for Boston. The ex-President Coolidge will deliver the address at the event. There is a personal note at the end of the letter from James telling Markham Boston needs him.
