William Michael Schmidli is Assistant Professor of History at Bucknell University where he teaches classes on the United States in the World and Modern Latin America. Professor Schmidli’s research interests include the U.S. in the World; Cold War history; Modern Latin America; 20th-century Argentina; transnational history; and human rights. He recently served as a member of the Institute for Advance Study in the School of Historical Studies where he conducted research on the Reagan Administration’s Project Democracy in Latin America and the end of the Cold War. He is the author of The Fate of Freedom Elsewhere: Human Rights in U.S. Cold War Policy toward Argentina published by Cornell University Press in 2013.
