Father of the Bill of Rights

Following the passage of the Constitution, James Madison drafted and introduced a set of ten amendments designed to correlate with the ideas and values expressed in the Constitution. These ten amendments, known as the Bill of Rights, were ratified in 1791.The Bill of Rights secured constitutional protections for civil liberties and human rights against unreasonable, unsupported, or impulsive governmental authority.
